Thinking Together

…how can I help you?

Sessions for Young People

I offer a 4 session intervention for adolescents and young adults. This treatment can be very helpful at times of crisis, change or feeling stuck. I start with a one off consultation with no obligation to continue.

Supervision

I provide supervision for clinicians and trainees working with children, adolescents and families. This includes art and play psychotherapy.

Parenting & Family Issues

Parent or family therapy can increase understanding and improve  relationships. It can be very difficult to understand your children at times, and it is not unusual for parents to feel worried, confused, angry or guilty. Sometimes couples to have differing parenting styles, and this can cause confusion, resentment or even conflict in families. In sibling groups, one child’s temperament or developmental stage may require different parent skills and strategies to another. Sometimes there can be major rupture in a family. This work can be with individuals, couples, family groups or parent-child dyads.

Pre & Post Natal Work

Pregnancy and the arrival of a new baby can be a very unsettling time and cause considerable psychological upheaval. I run a clinic for all perinatal issues, including adjustment to pregnancy or parenthood, fear of childbirth, birthing trauma, anxiety, low mood,  and bonding issues or managing a baby who is difficult to soothe. Fathers and couples are very welcome.

Life Cycle Adjustments

Family lifecycle changes such as the arrival of a baby, children starting school, adolescents moving towards independence, adult children leaving home, relationship breakdown and death can all feel very disorientating. Even when they are expected and welcome, such profound changes can have a considerable emotional impact.  Space to think this through with someone outside of the network can help with processing and adjustment.

General Psychotherapy

Time limited and open ended therapeutic interventions offered for a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, OCD, gender issues, addiction, trauma, work stress, unhappy childhood issues, bereavement, relationship problems.

What to expect

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy understands that we can not always know why we think or behave in the ways that we do. The process enables therapist and client to explore unconscious drives and ways that previous experiences and relationships have influenced current states of mind and functioning. This can be very helpful at troubling times in life, and assist with processing bereavement, loss and personal trauma. For any of the treatments, an initial consultation is offered to discuss options.

My prices are: £65 per session (50 mins), £220 for a 4 session young person intervention, £75 for couples or family work.
